Weight loss surgery is one part of the puzzle in achieving good health. The university trained Nutrition for Weight Loss Surgery dietitians can help fit the pieces of your puzzle together. Sally and Justine recently expanded their team of dietitians to include Carmel Cantone, who is available for consultations in their Adelaide clinic.
Whether your individual consultation is in person, via phone or Skype your medical and nutritional needs, eating habits, food preferences and lifestyle can all be assessed before recommendations are made. Your social, occupational and psychological needs can also be taken into consideration to tailor advice unique to you.
Payment is required on the day of your consultation. In person, cash, cheque and credit card payments are accepted. Credit card payment or direct deposit is required for phone or Skype consultations.
Please note that if you have not been seen for over 12 months, you will require a new client consultation.
If you have private health insurance with ‘extras’ cover with your private health fund you may be eligible for a rebate. Rebate amounts vary widely and you will need to check with your fund if you are entitled. You can claim a rebate on the spot using HICAPS if seeing us in person. If using phone or Skype a receipt will be issued to you that will allow you to claim a rebate from your fund if eligible.
People with chronic conditions and complex care needs may be eligible for an Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plan. If your GP has referred you for dietary services and completed an EPC referral form, Medicare can then provide a rebate for up to five of your consultations. Only those with a chronic condition are eligible for the plan – discuss eligibility with your GP. Please bring the EPC referral to your appointment.
Those with a DVA Gold Card can receive dietetic services in person at no additional cost. However, you must be referred to the dietitian by your GP. Please bring any relevant paperwork to your appointment.
